A key priority will be increasing engagement with research users, policymakers and wider audiences through enhanced communications and digital resources. This will include further developing the ADR England website with new content on dataset documentation and explainers, policy impact, communities of practice, regional insights and research themes aligned with government priorities.

We will continue to enhance ADR England’s flagship datasets, working with partners and researchers to identify future priorities and ensure our data resources continue to respond to important research and policy questions. Alongside this, we will work to make the researcher journey as straightforward as possible, improving the information and support available to help researchers discover, understand and access data. This will include exploring opportunities to expand access to synthetic data, enabling researchers to become familiar with the structure and potential of datasets before applying to use the secure, de-identified data.

A major focus will be supporting a new cohort of ADR UK Research Fellows as they begin research using ADR England flagship datasets. New projects using ECHILD, LEO and the linked MoJ–DfE dataset will investigate pressing policy questions including special educational needs and disabilities, children’s social care, health and education, housing affordability and social mobility, and the relationship between childhood disadvantage and later offending. By working closely with Fellows throughout their projects, we will support them to maximise the potential of these linked datasets and translate their findings into evidence that can inform policy and practice.

Building on existing relationships with core partners, researchers and communities, we will strengthen support for research capacity and impact. This will include exploring improved approaches to tracking and showcasing the influence of research using ADR England data, including through persistent identifiers such as Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), and supporting researchers to communicate findings more effectively to policy and public audiences.
