October 2023
- A cohort of 22 PhD students supported by ADR UK begin their projects using administrative data.
- A showcase event brings together stakeholders and ADR UK Research Fellows using the Ministry of Justice & Department for Education linked dataset.
- ADR Wales and the ONS produce the first research output in the new Integrated Data Service, and a joint workplan on use of the Welsh language.
November 2023
- A delegation from Consorcio IDI - a consortium of universities for an integrated data structure in Chile – visits ADR UK to exchange knowledge.
- The ADR UK Conference 2023 takes place in Birmingham, delivered in partnership with the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
- The SAIL Databank receives the prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize in recognition of its services to research.
- The Welsh Government Minister for Social Justice and Chief Whip, Jane Hutt (now Cabinet Secretary for Culture and Social Justice), credits ADR Wales for its work to help Wales become an international leader in data sharing and evidence-based policy best practice.
- A refreshed version of the Longitudinal Education Outcomes dataset is made available in the ONS Secure Research Service, including additional linkage to the Inter-Departmental Business Register and Covid-19 furlough data.
- ADR Scotland and Research Data Scotland deliver the first ‘Scotland Talks Data’ Public Panel session with a newly expanded membership.
February 2024
- An improved version of the ADR UK Data Catalogue launches.
- The latest funding opportunity for ADR UK Research Fellowships using ADR England flagship datasets launches.
- The Business Data for Research dataset 2021 is launched in Northern Ireland to accredited researchers.
- An online interactive event provides ONS Secure Research Service users with the latest updates on the transition to the Integrated Data Service.
March 2024
- ADR UK Ambassadors attend an in-person showcase of ADR UK projects in London.
- ADR UK provides funding to HM Revenue and Customs to explore how to improve research through HMRC’s administrative data.
- ADR UK successfully delivered a policy symposium using data-driven insights to explore experiences of care across the UK.
- The ONS Research Excellence Series of online events begins, showcasing outstanding research using data and including presenters from the ADR UK Conference 2023.
- ADR England community representative panels take part in a webinar to support partnership working and public engagement between researchers and the voluntary and community sector.

- ADR UK announces funding of two projects to explore the use of low-fidelity synthetic data.
- The ADR UK Learning Hub is enhanced with user communities, new resources and a glossary.
- An Office for Statistics Regulation report on analytical leadership cites ADR Wales as an example of collaborating across organisations.
- The Researcher Access Service is launched in Scotland.
May 2024
- The Public Insights Panel is welcomed to support public engagement across ADR England projects.
- The new ONS Secure Research Service model of single tier output clearance goes live, facilitating efficient and timely research progress.
- ADR Scotland runs a ‘Spotlight on Poverty’ event as part of its Data with Impact series.
- ADR Scotland research on policing the pandemic is featured in a report from the Independent Commission on UK Public Health Emergency Powers.
June 2024
- The Administrative Data Research Centre Northern Ireland (ADRC NI) successfully runs a second year of an internship programme for care-experienced young people.
- ADRC NI begins the recruitment process for the first Northern Ireland Public Data Panel.
- ADR Wales welcomes five summer interns to work across themes as part of the Population Data Science Summer Internship Programme.
July 2024
- A new cohort of 13 ADR UK Research Fellows using ADR England datasets begin their projects.
- The Nursing and Midwifery Council Register linked to Census 2021 dataset is made available for accredited researchers in the Integrated Data Service.
- ADR UK welcomes a summer intern as part of Health Data Research UK's Black Internship Programme.
August 2024
- The Administrative Data | Agricultural Research Collection dataset is made available for accredited researchers to apply to access. Data for England is hosted in the ONS Secure Research Service and data for Wales is hosted in the SAIL Databank.
