Collaboration and connection

Building on this year’s progress, ADR Scotland will continue to collaborate and connect stakeholders across government, the voluntary and community sector, and the research community. Work is ongoing with Smart Data Foundry to explore new data sources to support research on poverty. The team is also working with colleagues across a range of policy areas, including housing, environment and justice. In addition, ADR Scotland looks forward to hosting further Data with Impact Spotlight events to showcase policy priorities, available data, and impactful research.

Upcoming datasets and advancing innovative research

A number of existing datasets are currently being updated, while new datasets are being ingested across education, social care, housing, agriculture, and the environment. Several research projects are expected to publish findings this year, including an ADR Scotland-led study on the dynamics of the nursing and midwifery workforce, and research into the service leaver population in Scotland - designed to better understand the social circumstances of former armed forces personnel.

The continued development of the Scottish Historic Population Platform (SHiPP) also positions ADR Scotland to support new research into family structure and novel intergenerational cohorts.
