Mission & vision
Our mission
Better evidence can inform better decisions across policy and public services, which ultimately improves people’s lives.
By securely accessing data from across the public sector, researchers have the power to unlock this much-needed evidence and make a real impact on society.
ADR UK works in partnership with UK and devolved governments to safely link data generated from people’s interactions with public services, making it securely available to accredited researchers.
These researchers can use the de-identified data for approved projects in the public interest, from answering pressing policy questions to evaluating interventions in practice.
To further support our mission, we host public panels to inform our work, provide researcher training and community building, and fund groundbreaking research using administrative data.
Our comprehensive programme ensures that administrative data is used for public good.
Our vision
ADR UK’s vision is to be the trusted provider of administrative data services across UK and devolved government, supporting researchers to unlock evidence that informs policy and practice.
We aim to transform how data is linked, accessed and used – making secure analysis of public sector data a recognised and reliable part of research and innovation across the UK.
By enabling timely and responsible data access at scale, we aim to deliver research with real-world impact, helping to answer important policy questions, improve public services, and address major societal challenges.
How we work
The ADR UK governance structure is designed to be robust, flexible, and responsive. This helps ensure we are on track to meet our objectives and to guide good practice across the partnership.
